TRANSLATION PROJECT MANAGER

This Translation Project Management position will be a very diverse, client-facing role. You will be dealing with a variety of interesting marketing translation projects from both our main office site, as well as from client site directly. You will manage creative translation projects from beginning to end, initially with supervision from a member of the team, but with increasing autonomy as the existing workflows and processes are learned.

This will be a challenging and exciting role, requiring constant multi-tasking and the ability to complete all tasks in hand within set deadlines. Good computer literacy as well as an understanding of CAT-tools is key as well as the ability to prepare presentations. Your day-to-day will be enhanced by your eagerness to learn and develop workflows and practices. Ultimately, the role requires translation project management know-how combined with common sense, an excellent command of English language, and taking pleasure in working in a vibrant environment where things can happen all at once.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR TRANSLATION PROJECT MANAGER:

  • Overseeing day-to-day translation projects, serving as primary contact between suppliers, direct and end client.
  • Analysing client information and campaign strategies and deciding upon approach.
  • Coordinating and managing delivery of multiple translation projects to clients.
  • Accountable for project status, client relationships, and ensuring quality and service always meet expectations.
  • Identifying new strategies, approaches or workflows with clients for continued improvement.
  • Attending meetings as required to discuss and clarify on briefs, client requirements, deadlines and budgets.
  • Compiling and presenting reports & presentations on cost, quality & translation activities.
  • Account management.
  • Sourcing and management of linguists, and other language / marketing professionals involved in projects.
  • Quality assurance checking of translations.
  • Effectively communicating with clients, linguists and colleagues with ultimate goal of ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Being willing and able to travel as required.

 

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years experience in Translation Project Management, with excellent project management skills.
  • Translation / Interpreting Degree at BA or Masters level (or similar qualification).
  • Native level English language skills.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • General Experience with CAT tools. (Training on specific CAT tools will be provided if necessary).
  • Proven communication, organizational and time management skills.
  • Participant in team environment as well as ability to work independently.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes.
  • Possess problem solving skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to different working environments.
  • Marketing experience or knowledge is a plus.
